hi to all who defended me on that other board.. i came home today to nine pm's, all defending me from the personal attacks on me, on another board.
i am still in shock, but i do appreciate the words of those who defended me.. one gal called me and told me she had five phone calls from others expressing shock over the way i was being maligned on the other board.. i am fine, and dealing with it.
i guess we all need to expect to be criticized.
Is it too late to join the crowd? I'll defend ya...

i've always obsessed about good grades.
i had straight a's in high school and through junior college.
now that i'm a junnior i'm struggling to do that.
The professor is wrong - especially in the recent job market employers have been going to great lengths to differentiate candidates, even looking at SAT's.
There is the old joke about what you call someone who barely gets into, and barely passes, medical school - "Doctor". But not the case in most professions.
There are two sides to your question though, Stacy - what you should do, and why you look at it the way you do. Mustang's right - you understanding why you feel the way you do about the grade is more valuable to you than the grade itself.
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance has a truly revelationary section on grades. Also, if you can find a copy, Jerry Farber wrote some essays on this topic that, if you get past the sixties rhetoric without giving up, will give a very good viewpoint on school and grades. Farber is best known for The Student as Nigger essay, but there is an essay in a paperback collection of that name called The Student and Society that is actually more readable and less inflammatory.

Dude - sure you wanna argue with this guy?
just asking because my church of christ friend says you cannot be both.
I'm not, but who died and made him pope?
Anyone who has faith in an omnipotent god shuld be able to convince themselves that that god set into motion physical laws that resulted in evolution.
The trick is not also believing that the guy selling you the bridge in Brooklyn is straight up.
...do not make for a good dinner.
what are some good things that a single guy can make for dinner besides spaghetti or peanut butter sandwiches or something stupid like that?
jwd ladies?????
Well, for her, you might also need to take a massage class... and brush up on your ironing.

Baby corn is actually little tiny corn-on-the-cob - not what we roundeyes usually think of as canned corn.
Look here - http://www.sunluckfoods.com/products/pro.htm
Also experiment with marinating chicken breasts - use beer, soy sauce, various salad dressings, pepper (rub in by hand), and white wine (red wine stains the chicken) and find out what you like. Pretend it's a science experiment! You can eat them over rice or with mashed potatoes (Do NOT use the boxed ones - get a recipe off of the Internet, and have some versions of butter and milk that you can use - Organic Valley has a 2% Lactose-free milk that tastes pretty good. Then eat the leftovers in a burrito.
Cooking is fun - and after you are comfortable doing it, I guarantee that someday it will get you laid. It's also great training for managing multiple things at a time.
coming to a radio near you, the return of rush limbaugh.
for those of us missing our daily fix (opps, better not use that word anymore) of rush limbaugh, it was announced on his show thursday that he will be sober enough to return to the air on monday the 17th of november.
i'm buying my popcorn now and want to get a good seat.
I would be estatic if he just became a "compassionate conservative". I don't need him to change sides - I'd just like for him to stop being an asshole.

OK, Dan, now I'm pissed off that you ask the ladies for help - instead of the guys that have already solved your little problem! Sexist pig :)
Buy beef for fajitas or chicken tender strips in the meat section. Put some soy sauce and some beer or wine in a bowl, mix in a tablespoon of garlic paste, and let it sit for a half-hour, covered. Then dump the whole thing in a saucepan and sautee. Add a can of baby corn (available in the Asian section) and maybe some snow peas. Serve over rice. Not great as leftover, unless you make new rice - then it's fine.
Buy spaghetti sauce in the jar, but sautee half a package of hamburger and then dump it into the sauce. Add a glass of red wine and some garlic. Buy different pastas - I like the Trivial Pursuit wheel shapes, they hold more sauce. Great as leftover. Breakfast sausage works instead of hamburger also.
I love breakfast burritos any time of day. Hamburger or fajita strip beef, beans, and some Ore-Ida hash browns (ill-maned - they are really home fries). Yum. Also great as leftover.
